Smart Sea Level Sensors Intern

Benjamin Vaisberg

Being raised in Miami, Florida I’m aware of the reality of sea level rise and I’m excited to be part of a project that is working to help people along the US coast stay safe from these dangers.

Ben is a recent graduate of Georgia Tech. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in May 2020 focusing on artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction. He is fluent in Spanish.

He has interned at GE and John Deere developing backend software to handle shipping and communication services to help their order management team.

Ben has strong software engineering skills and will be working on Emergency Management Portal (CEMA portal) to enhance its functionalities. Ben will be working with Dr. Russ Clark, Director of Mobile Technology & IoT Programs – Georgia Tech, and his team of software developers to optimize data filtering and anomaly detection. Ben will be teleworking from his home due to COVID-19 social distancing.

In his spare time, Ben likes to work on projects in the sports analytics world or spend time playing soccer and kitesurfing.

Ben is a resident of Miami and this project hits close to home to him with Miami being vulnerable to sea level rise. He is happy to be part of the Smart Sea Level Sensor project that is helping coastal communities. We are very happy to have Ben joining our Sea Level Sensor Project team and welcome him onboard.
